TopLoader to Kefid 273 Bellhousing? | For A Bodies Only

Jul 17, 2021 · 12:55 PM. Hello all. I would like to convert my 65 Val with 273 to manual transmission. My favorite would probably be the Dakota transmission or an A833OD. With the 833, it would of course be cool that it is plug and play. Since these are very hard to find here in Switzerland, I have been looking around for a Muncie or TopLoader.

The 351C has the same bolt pattern as the 302, late 289, and 351W. 289s can be stroked to the full 347 without a problem most of the time. The 347 uses shorter pistons and they do not present any problems with the lower cylinder. 6.

Jan 29, 2012 · You guys saying throw-out bearing should try to elaborate. If the clutch linkage is mis-adjusted then the TOB will spin in idle with your foot off the pedal. If its adjusted right it wont. ASM109 said it. Foot on the pedal TOB turns. Real easy. My toploader 4spd has some noise in neutral with my foot off the clutch pedal.

Holy S**t! Jegs/Kaase SBF heads! | Ford Muscle Cars Tech Forum

Dec 20, 2003 · You guys are right on about flow numbers and port volumes. A 410 SBC we built for roundy-round racing "only" had 230cc intake ports, but flowed in the 350 cfm range. Everyone said that it wouldn't make more than 700 HP, but after careful part selection and matching, we made over 870 at the crank flange.

Dropping 351 based motor in '65 that had a 289 | StangNet

Dec 31, 2003 · My friend has a '65 Mustang with a 289. He is planning on going to a 302 based motor, but I'm trying to convince him on the CHP 427 Street Fighter, since he was looking at dropping the same amount of money on their 331. So, can anyone tell me if there are any mods that are required to stuff a

I believe GL-5 (hypoid) oils are recommended for toploaders. They do offer 90wt hypoid oil that comes without friciton modifier for those that need to run GL-5 oil in

Toploader vs Sideloader - Mustangsandmore Forum Archive

Toploader is a Ford transmission, used in all ford cars that required a 4-speed, and was made by Tremec of Mexico IIRC, even in the good old days. Strong, easy to fix and a decent shifting tranny are its strong points. The sideloader would be a Borg Warner T-10, only used in early 60's Fords, up until 66 I believe.

Toploader Disassembly - Mustangsandmore Forums

Registered: Apr 2000. posted Liming05 09:51 AM. My toploader was leaking badly so I have decided to replace the seals and gaskets in it. I have the 65 Mustang Shop Manual as a guide for the disassembly but it seems to be lacking a bit in clarity of the instructions. I've removed the front bearing cover, rear housing and the 3/4 and 1/2 shift

Hydraulic clutch to replace stock linkage? | Vintage

May 09, 2007 · I've seen a few hydraulic clutch setups for my '66, but I haven't found one for a toploader style of linkage. I don't want to get a thrust bearing style - primarily because it's such a fiasco to yank my tranny, and next time I do will be a $700 ordeal already ( alum. flywheel and lightweight clutch / pressure plate ).

Local trans guy for Toploader work | NC4x4

Dec 03, 2021 · I've done thos for a Jeep trans and it's simple, but the Toploader is designed differently - most of the trans has to come apart to swap the input shaft. The SB input shaft is longer than the BB input. With the shorter pinion, the trans becomes less stable and can damage the bearing and the trans case. Last edited: Dec 3, 2021.
